I’m SO excited to finally share something I’ve been dreaming up for a while… our very first Sugar Snap Social is happening! 💛

Over the past year and a half, I’ve absolutely loved getting to know so many of you. Starting Sugar Snap Play has been such a special journey — and one of the most unexpected joys has been the friendships it’s brought into my life.

As a mum myself, I know how motherhood can sometimes feel isolating or overwhelming. And I’ve realised more than ever that we’re all just figuring things out together — trying our best, needing connection, and craving a bit of “me time” now and again.

So I wanted to create a little space for that. A friendly, welcoming evening where you can:

Sugar Snap Social 💛

We are so pleased to welcome you to our play space Sugar Snap Play at The Glass Yard Chesterfield!

We’re not a soft play centre BUT we do have soft play and it’s gorgeous! (if we do say so ourselves)

What you can expect to find at our Stay and Play sessions!

Our lovely Staff members who are dedicated to making you and your children feel happy, safe and most of all welcome!

We know first hand what it can be like going to new places alone with your children and sometimes it can be daunting! Our lovely staff will always be on hand throughout your session to help with any questions you might have.

Within each 90 minute session your child will have access to…

Our modern luxury soft play, set up with ball pit, ride on cars and hoppers for extra fun!

A home corner which includes a beautiful wooden Montessori-style shopping market, baby role play, kitchen and dining set and a dressing up rail for all of our imagination seekers!

A Montessori-inspired block play shelf, with access to high quality vibrant building blocks, wooden animals and plenty of resources to really ignite your child’s imagination, building small worlds, stomping through Jurassic Park, building Matlock Farm Park and even the Empire State Building! The possibilities are endless!

A beautiful calm reading area, with a wooden reading arch, cream soft play sofa and cuddly toys for ultimate reading luxury!

Sensory Table - each week we will change our sensory table. You can expect to discover mini-beasts, nature building, small worlds, sensory play and so much more!

Craft Table - each week all the children will have the opportunity to feel inspired and create something beautiful! Whether it be scooping up some gorgeous scented play dough to create a yummy pretend ice cream or making a rainbow shaker! A new exciting craft will be put out every week!

Sensory Space - Our special dark room is filled with different calming areas, bean bags, soft seating, bubble lamps and fibre optic lights for all of our sensory seekers out there!

The Baby Space - our baby space is perfect for newborns right up to our wobbly walkers! You can expect to find soft seating with frosted windows for extra privacy, soft luxury tumble mats with access to sensory toys, ball pit and soft play perfectly safe for babies.

Our space has a baby gate on the door which allows you to sit back and relax with no worries.

Sugar Snap Cafe - You can expect to find delicious coffees made with our premium coffee machine, a range of teas and cold refreshments, and snacks for parents, children & babies!

Never seen my son so happy , he loved exploring all the areas. We will defo be back although I think the slot would be better to be 90mins so get time to sit in cafe area have a snack n drink.  Has my boy 13months wasn’t ready to leave after a hour.

The area is lovely and clean and has a separate baby section that's gated off so you don't have to worry about your little one getting troden on in the chaos! The owner was so friendly and lovely and checked it on us, it has a lovely little cafe with bits for little ones as well and just had a nice, homey feel to it. Definitely five stars 🩷

My only suggestion would be that it would be nice if the sessions were 90 mins instead of an hour, it seems to go very quickly and, especially with 2 kids, the cost seems quite high for an hour

One of the best sensory rooms I’ve been to! Every area was so clean and tidy, so aesthetically pleasing! There were so many options of toys and sensory items for my daughter to explore. Brilliant clean lively new place. Staff were wonderful. I have a 2 year old so 1 hour play bit short for them. I think the price should match and time similar to tiny town. Other wise I don’t think it would be worth returning for me.

This playgroup is by far the best we’ve ever been to. It’s so clean, educational and the attention to detail is amazing. The staff are so lovely and make time to speak to you and the children. The only issue I had was that we wanted longer to play! (Although now the sessions have been extended it’s perfect!) We will be attending this playgroup whenever we are able. I cannot recommend it enough.

Lovely space, clean and calm. Not overcrowded. Felt very comfortable with my 2 month old, lots to do for babies and toddlers. Sensory room was great. Baby room was lovely with different toys and different areas. Only improvement for me would be if one of the chairs in the baby room weren't facing out into the main room as would just provide a bit of extra privacy for those of us who are still getting comfortable with breastfeeding in public.  Will definitely be returning and would recommend.

It’s so nice to have somewhere for babies with clean environment and baby sensory toys. The dark area was so good with all the light up toys and then there’s a separate tiny baby area.

My only additional feedback would be for the cafe staff to know how to use the Tommee Tippee prep machine as the milk wasn’t mixed properly when handed back to me.

First impression was of a bright, clean and very inviting place. It really is . The area is spacious and beautifully laid out with plenty of space for the children to explore the toys and different things laid out for them to experience in their own time and their own way. There was plenty of role play toys and craft tables and the sensory room was gorgeous. Our granddaughter had a wonderful time and we will definitely recommend this place to others and we will most certainly come back and play!

Been to Sugar Snap a couple of times now, it's wonderful! My grandson is 14m and most play centres are too boisterous and physically difficult for him but sugar snap is a whole other world! everything is beautifully thought out and he can access everything. The activity tables have encouraged him to stand to play and he loves the sensory room. it never feels cramped and he can always get a 'turn' on the cars etc. It's much more of a well thought out nursey setting than the usual play centres, and the activities change each week so there's something to interest him.  Can't recommend this place highly enough, it's absolutely the best!

Beautiful play centre, this was our first time and we'll definitely be back. What an amazing range of toys and activities. My nearly 9 month old loved the sensory light room. The amount of children attending was perfect too so it wasn't too busy and plenty to share.

 I will be back at work soon and was struggling for activities for the afternoon and the later play sessions will be perfect.

Staff were friendly, and though I didn't buy a drink, I looked at the menue and the prices were very reasonable.

I would like to thank Alysha for letting us book in for me, my friend and our babies when the group was sold out, she acted on this very quickly and professionally. 
She took time in talking to us and our babies and made us feel so welcome. 
The Montessori inspired setting is just perfect, each area has a purpose and flows beautifully! It’s clean, comfortable, Morden and perfect for mums and babies to get together. 
The sensory room was perfect for our babies perfectly laid out and the beautiful rug and soft furnishings, and the attention to details, they both loved it so much, and overall fantastic experience and will be back. 
Both babies was asleep on way home :) in no time.

Sugar snaps- what a wonderful idea! Why is there nothing else like this around...
A special play space dedicated to babies and younger children, up to 5, unlike other play areas this takes the worry out of bigger children running around etc, as even in the 'baby sections' they are often not monitored, so sugar snaps takes this stress away.

It is brand new, and lovely and clean, my little boy loves the sensory room... 

We went on a weekend and I know it was a trial, but being open on a weekend would be great for parents that work during the week...

We have already booked to come again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very impressed! The whole set up is beautiful, very modern and clean and plenty of educational and Montessori toys to choose from. The sensory room is beautifully spacious and very comfortable. Although my little boy is too old for the baby room, a very quick peek showed it was utterly gorgeous, lots of black and white resources and soft play mats. The cafe area is pretty small, and no tables free, but as we weren’t using this area it was no issue. The toilets are spotless and everything is so clean in general. Makes such a change to usual soft plays / stay and plays. We will 1000% be back. The owner was lovely too, making time to chat to everyone. A great addition!

Me and my friend met and had a lovely time, me with my 2 year old granddaughter & her with her 1 year old son. Friendly staff and a lovely place for the children to play. All areas were great. Lots of toys, dressing up, a craft table and a wonderful sensory room. Will definitely visit again.

Our 2nd visit to sugar snap play was at least as good as the first! My granddaughter had a wonderful time playing with all the lovely toys available She loves the sensory room and especially the little “sea creatures “ in the light tube. She was also very busy making ice cream out of play doh and loves the slide and the soft sit on toys. We have just recommended this lovely place to two of our friends and we will be back very soon.

From the moment I walked in with my two little ones I knew that we were somewhere special! It’s a beautiful decorated and presented venue, light, bright and clean. There was a fantastic selection of toys for babies and children, and the sensory room in particular is amazing! Clean play space for little ones with very good quality equipment. Separate gated room for the very little ones and a sensory room next to it. Small cafe area with sitting area. They could do with a toaster so that they can offer toasted tea cakes or plain toast alongside the traybake cakes with their hot drinks. There is a choice of child friendly snacks. I will be booking again as my granddaughter aged just over 2 years loved it.

It’s so lovely! I’ve been a few times now and it’s just brilliant. It’s spacious, set out well and I’m going twice this week. I took my husband with our son on Tuesday and he said how good it was and I’m meeting some friends on Thursday with our little ones. My son enjoys it and he always has a nap afterwards. Another lovely session playing at the lovely Sugar Snap Play. Our granddaughter is getting used to playing with other little people her own age and this is such a lovely setting for doing this. She particularly likes the slide and all the lovely squishy sit on toys. She loves the market stalls and the sensory room. In fact she just has a wonderful time whenever she comes to play.

Me and my Grandson have visited twice now. As a grandparent that has mobility issues I find sugar snap a fantastic place to go. There is a lift to the first floor.  I can't take him to other soft play as I can't chace or climb to help him.  This place is a real credit to the owner. I can supervise him playing as its on one level. Staff get involved and interact with the children that attend. They have a cafe to purchase drinks and snacks. This week was a crafting table, books, dress up, role play, sand, reading area . The sensory room is spectacular.  We will see you again soon. The value for money is incredible.  He loves the activities of which there are plenty.  Keep up the good work

The most warm and welcoming play cafe I've visited for a long time. Big and bright spacious place, so much for children to explore. I was really impressed with all the baby items to engage, explore,, play and show babies. Usually baby rooms are bit empty compared to the older rooms but definitely not here. The variety of items is amazing. 

Will be a place I will keep bring my 7 month old to as he grows as cannot recommend it enough.

We came back again today, as we now have made a visit to Sugar Snap play part of our weekly routine as Silvie enjoys it so much!
It was great fun today as Silvie just loves pumpkins ! She was enjoying herself so much playing with the pumpkins, weighing them, rolling them, sharing them out!
And she loved the new kitchen sink too. 
Huge fan of the play doh too and really channeled her inner Picasso !!

I loved spending time here with my 11 month old, he was really enjoying exploring all of the different rooms and exciting stations. The sensory room is amazing, relaxing and all round a nice experience. Everything was so clean and its obvious how much time and effort has been put into this place. Alysha is so lovely and made effort to speak to everyone, interact with the babies and made us feel really welcome. 

We absolutely loved the autumn station as it was to cold and wet to visit a pumpkin patch this week coming here was perfect, also to get some lovely pictures! Everything is so very well thought out and has lots of educational play opportunities💗 I have recommended this place to everyone, it is absolutely 10/10!!!

Staff are lovely and are very welcoming. There is a lovely atmosphere. Plenty of lovely activities set up to keep the little ones entertained

We really enjoyed our time at the stay and play. My one and three year old were engaged the whole time. A calm and relaxed environment made it a lovely place to be.
